In 2023, Adéla burst into the spotlight thanks to The Debut: Dream Academy, the reality-competition program that bred K-Pop phenoms KATSEYE. Earlier this year, the Slovak singer released tracks “KGB” and “Red Bottoms,” each radiating mainstream pop appeal and featuring notable collaborators such as Dylan Brady of 100 Gecs. She is now unveiling her first full-length album, Prima, slated for a fall release.
The latest track “Ain’t In LA” drops today, delivering a catchy, off-kilter vibe reminiscent of Miley Cyrus’ top songs. It draws from photos she found of her mother posing in front of a wall covered with pop-culture imagery. “My grandfather quietly brought the posters in from Germany,” she explains. “It made me realize there are countless beautiful young women with dreams who won’t receive the flowers my mom deserved. I wrote this for her and for the billions of other incredible women who are likely cooler than me.”
On Prima, which Dylan Brady and Blake Slatkin executive-produced, she says she aims for the album to embody the voice of a 22-year-old woman. She sought to convey duality—combining grit with tenderness, vulnerability with swagger, powerfully rhythmic beats with feminine energy. “I followed my own vision to the letter,” she adds.
