Around My Finger by Perfect 100

October 7, 2026

If you caught Dazy’s opening set on Militarie Gun’s recent run, you likely got a solid glimpse of Andrew Madore, the guitarist touring with James Goodson. He’s hard to miss. I ran into Madore at the Charlottesville show on that tour a couple of weeks back. A friendly guy. Staggeringly tall—about 6’7″—though not taller than me by much. When you see yourself as “the tall guy” and you meet someone even taller, it kind of scrambles your head for a moment. It doesn’t happen to me very often, but it always leaves me with a weird mental jolt.

Anyway, Andrew Madore makes his own fuzzy, delirious indie pop under the moniker Perfect 100. Last year, he released a self-titled EP and performed at Stereogum’s Weird Fucks show. Today, he unveils the new single “Around My Finger,” a blissful surge of laid-back melody that carries a strong echo of 1990s Sebadoh. Madore tracked most of the track at home in his Brooklyn apartment, with Will Hirst from Restraining Order handling the drums. In a press release, Madore explains:

I wrote this song during a moment when I was overwhelmed by the fear of time slipping away and found it hard to get anything done. I couldn’t reply to friends, I couldn’t leave the house, and every thought about my life was colored by an acute awareness of all the wasted minutes leading up to that moment. I figured that if I could pause time, let it coil around my finger and be held in my hand, many of my fears and anxieties would fade and I could begin to straighten my life out.

Alexa Terfloth directed the video, which carries the same immediate, low-budget energy as the track. Watch it below.

“Around My Finger” is out now on bloody knuckles. Perfect 100 is set to perform in New York at Alphaville on 11/12.
