Now 24, the artist resurfaces with ready or noT, his first release since that breakthrough. The project also arrives with an eccentric music video crafted by fellow musician quadeca, providing a striking visual counterpart to the track’s wild energy.
ready or noT lands on the same day as 2hollis’ raucous “Warhorse,” and a few days after Jane Remover’s razor-sharp “Beauty Sleep,” signaling that hyperpop remains alive, loud, and more unapologetic than ever. Here’s what quadeca shared on Instagram about taking the reins for the video:
thrilled to say i directed and edited brakence’s return for “ready or noT.” incredibly proud of this video—it’s taken a long time to come together—wrangling puppeteers, storyboarding, building sets, and more. this was a whole new realm for me, and i hope it lives up to what Randy’s fans expect from his music. big thanks to everyone who helped bring this to fruition. Randy is my favorite collaborator of all time, and no one is remotely prepared for the world he’s crafted with this album. just a quick note… i’ll be back with life 1 next week 🙂
