Brandon Flowers Premieres New Solo Track and The Coral Cover in Bristol

October 18, 2026

In August, Brandon Flowers—the lead singer of The Killers—dropped his twang-infused country solo record titled Thrasher. During his Bristol Beacon show last night, he unveiled even more fresh solo material, including the track “A Good Man Is Hard To Find,” a title taken from Flannery O’Connor’s short story first published in 1953. He thereby joins a growing list of artists, such as Bruce Springsteen and Sufjan Stevens, who have drawn on that O’Connor story for their own songs.

Before performing the number, Flowers explained that the period when he crafted Thrasher in Nashville was a “real fruitful time” for him. He revealed that he wrote and recorded two records, with the second album slated for release sometime in 2027. The set also included a rendition of The Coral’s “Dreaming Of You.”

I write about music as a cultural signal, following the artists, scenes, releases, and movements that shape how people listen today. My work focuses on discovery, context, and the stories behind the sounds that travel beyond borders.
