CeeLo Green has clarified that Danger Mouse will not be joining the upcoming Gnarls Barkley tour as a performer.
A promotional poster had suggested the duo would reunite for a North American stretch—their first in nearly two decades—but Green confirmed to fans that Danger Mouse, whose real name is Brian Burton, remains the group’s producer rather than a live participant.
He addressed the matter in an Instagram post, explaining with full candor that while the tour is happening, Danger Mouse is not on stage. He described Danger Mouse as a producer (quite a gifted one) and noted that they are business partners who support each other’s decisions. Green also indicated that he would be performing tracks from three iconic albums and that Danger Mouse would be present in spirit. He urged fans to avoid any misunderstandings or disappointment.
The tour artwork for To Whom It Still Concerns has since been corrected to reflect the error, now reading: “CeeLo Green performing Gnarls Barkley.”
The Crazy hitmakers’ live run is slated to begin at The Masonic in San Francisco on November 5. In response to demand, an additional date in New York has been added for November 25.
Gnarls Barkley are also set to hit the UK stages in December.
Ticket sales for the UK shows open at 10am BST on Friday (25.09.26).
In March, the duo released their third and final studio album, Atlanta.
Gnarls Barkley rose to prominence in the 2000s with their debut album St. Elsewhere and its global smash Crazy, which dominated charts around the world.
Their follow-up project continued their tradition of blending genres and experimenting, until the collective largely faded from the spotlight after that release.
