Seattle’s enduring indie rock outfit Chastity Belt is prepping for the drop of their new record All My Friends — and no, it’s not connected to LCD Soundsystem — arriving at the end of the week. They have been whetting listeners’ appetites by releasing the album in two-song blocks, kicking off with “I Could Say Less” and “Pavement,” followed by “To Decide” and “Designs.” Today, they share one final single, the enchanting “Friends For This.”
“I wrote the lyrics for this song right after moving back from England,” explains guitarist and vocalist Lydia Lund. “It marked a sweet reconnection with friends after spending the previous two years away from Seattle. We had plenty of sleepovers. We had a blast tracking vocals for this track in my basement with Julia, Gretchen, and Samur. Gretchen laid down some truly stunning vocal textures toward the end of the song. If you listen closely, you can hear them.” Listen below.
