Index’s raucous debut album Vis Inertiae lands this Friday. The experimental hardcore duo has already unveiled tracks like “Cellophane,” “Fractured,” and “Earth,” and now they return with “Dissolve.”
“After years of making music side by side, we began to feel stuck and burdened by what came before, even as we wanted to keep writing and performing,” the band explains. “That sentiment is echoed in the album’s title. The concept of forgetting as a purposeful act to move forward. Crafting this record became the way we accomplished that. We sought a space where electronic influences could be woven into the fabric of live instrumentation. And we never intended for it to sound like two individuals merely playing; we wanted it to advance as a single, unified force.”
