Ed Sheeran signs new recording deal after leaving Warner Music Group

Ed Sheeran is reportedly securing a fresh deal with a new record label.

Two months after parting ways with Warner Music Group/Asylum—his home for more than fifteen years—Billboard reports that he is poised to align with Interscope Records.

The trade outlet notes that WMG will continue to hold rights to his past hits.

The Azizam singer recently recalled a chance encounter with A+R executive Ed Howard at a tiny Notting Hill gig when he was just 18—a meeting that led to sofa-surfing, early demos, and ultimately a record deal that altered the course of his life.

Ed said the split from WMG wasn’t driven by drama but by his personal growth as a father of two.

He explained: “My life is hugely different now… I’ve felt for a long time that many things in my professional life need to change.”

Ed expressed gratitude to the label teams worldwide and left the door open for future collaborations.

He later disclosed his plan to take time away from music once his LOOP tour finishes, telling fans that his priority will be being a father.

During a June show in Glendale, Arizona, the 35-year-old singer—who shares daughters Lyra, five, and Jupiter, four, with wife Cherry Seaborn— paused mid-performance to reveal that he might be off the road for a while.

He told the crowd that they “may not see him again for a while,” adding: “This is going to be my last time here in a while. I might take some time off once this tour has ended and focus on the dad thing. So if I don’t see you for a while, I love you, thank you for coming.”
