Ella Langley has rejected a fan who asked her to go out on a date.
The Choosin’ Texas singer didn’t mince words when replying to TikTok creator Tiki after he tried to charm her outside her Knoxville, Tennessee, performance.
In a clip that quickly went viral, Tiki can be heard calling through a gate, “Ella, how many likes would it take to get you on a date?”
Langley, standing in a parking lot surrounded by onlookers, leveled him with a steady, unreadable gaze before saying, “Not enough in the world,” and turning away.
The content creator took the rejection in stride, folding his arms and addressing the camera, “You miss 100 per cent of the shots you don’t take.”
The moment sparked a spectrum of responses in the comments, with some viewers criticizing Langley’s terse response.
The country star, who is reportedly dating fellow singer Tucker Wetmore, later offered some context in the comments, writing, “It was intended as dark humor. You said that, and it got quiet, and I got nervous,” TMZ reported.
The remark has since been deleted.
Earlier in the week, Langley’s song Choosin’ Texas spent a 23rd week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, setting a new record for the most weeks at the top of the US chart.
