Fiona Apple Scores Title Sequence for Anya Taylor-Joy’s New Miniseries Lucky

July 6, 2026

Fiona Apple is reentering the spotlight. Her music is being used to accompany the new limited series Lucky, featuring Anya Taylor-Joy and adapted from Marissa Stapley’s 2021 novel. It premieres on Apple TV+ on July 15. It remains unclear whether the score includes new material from Apple, but here’s hoping. Either way, it’s making me curious about a show I hadn’t heard of before today.

“I wanted [the music] to be mostly female-centric and have kind of a rock edge to it,” Anya Taylor-Joy told Movieplayer.it before revealing that “the legend, Fiona Apple” soundtracks the title sequences. Taylor-Joy explained that her teenage self was freaking out. “I think her voice is a perfect description of this series. There’s a timbre and a rawness and a gravelliness that perfectly exemplifies the show.”

“When I saw the first episode, as soon as that title sequence broke in, I just remember this feeling of, ‘Oh, fuck yeah. This is going to be a great show,'” costar Timothy Olyphant added. “Like it just defined the whole show. This show must be awesome if Fiona Apple’s part of it.”
