French DJ HUGEL Takes on Sam Fender and Olivia Dean for UK No. 1

August 23, 2026

French DJ HUGEL is contesting the lead position on the UK Official Singles Chart with “Movin’ To The Sun,” according to the latest Official Chart First Look briefing.

Currently perched at Number 2 based on early sales and initial streaming data, the summer release seeks to supplant “Rein Me In,” which has dominated the summit for nine consecutive weeks.

Meanwhile, Fontaines D.C., the Irish rock outfit, are on track to achieve their highest UK charting single to date with “Marianne.” It sits at Number 15 in the wake of the announcement of their fifth studio album, Dopamine Chamber, due for release in October 2026, and could become the group’s second Top 40 entry after 2025’s “It’s Amazing To Be Young.”

Further down the update, a limited-edition 7-inch vinyl release has propelled “These Alarms,” the collaboration between Snow Patrol and Kylie Minogue, to Number 21, placing it on course for a potential Top 40 debut. Calvin Harris’s “Satisfy” featuring Jazzy is climbing by 40 places to Number 18, marking its pursuit of a first main chart entry, while Sonny Fodera and Becky Hill’s joint single “Say Something” sits at Number 38.

Several tracks are moving toward fresh peaks within the Top 10 in mid-week standings. Stella Lefty’s “Boston” remains at Number 3, with Sienna Spiro delivering two entries in the upper tier as “Great Expectation” rises to Number 6 and “Die On This Hill” debuts at Number 10. Sheffield producer Silva Bumpa advances to Number 8 with “On 2nite,” while Malcolm Todd’s “Earrings” sits at Number 13 and Alyssa Grace’s “bloodstream” tracks at Number 16.

The final positions for the Official Singles Chart Top 100 will be announced on Friday.
