Yo, are you into loud, urgent garage-punk rock ‘n’ roll? If so, get acquainted with Gripper, a Philadelphia outfit featuring members from Teenage Halloween, Latewaves, Nylon, and Street City Surf. The band has already dropped a 2025 demo and a 2026 split with Nympho, and a full-length record is on the horizon.
Gripper’s debut LP Another Night Of Fun On Me is slated for release early next year, and I must say the cover art has a certain appeal. The group recently issued two tracks, “Miss Behave” and “Other Bastard,” both delivering fists-up boogie riffs and snarled vocals that could well have been captured through two tin cans tied together with a string. It evokes the spirit of the Exploding Hearts, which I’ll take as a compliment. Below you’ll find those songs, the album’s tracklist, and Gripper’s upcoming shows.
