Harry Styles reveals he feels uneasy when he’s not on tour

Harry Styles has candidly discussed the unease he felt when he wasn’t performing on tour.

The pop icon has confessed that, earlier in his career, long spells at home left him feeling restless.

In a W Magazine interview, Styles explained that during his latest hiatus from touring he began carving out more personal time, whereas previously breaks from the road left him uneasy.

“During the periods I stepped away from touring, I tended to a side of my life I hadn’t given much attention to before,” he stated. “Because I started so young, touring came to define a large portion of who I was.”

“I used to feel quite uncomfortable with stretches at home,” the 32-year-old added. “I didn’t always know how to fill the time.”

The former One Direction member went on to share that, with time, he has become more grateful for both his life in the spotlight and the life he leads away from it.

“Now I feel really fortunate to have this amazing job and a creative environment, but also this life outside of it that I’m excited to spend time in. I don’t think I felt that before,” he stated. “The idea of not touring is less frightening to me.”

Harry also noted that he has learned more about who he is when he isn’t on stage.

“It feels quite special to be in it, to soak up the experience, and to recognize that it isn’t forever,” he told the publication. “It doesn’t come with the existential angst it used to, when I’d wonder, ‘Who am I if I don’t do this?’”

The star added, “I’m a little more comfortable with who I am if I’m not doing it, which makes touring a lot more enjoyable.”

Harry’s last major tour, Love On Tour, wrapped up in July 2023 after nearly two years on the road. He hasn’t announced any new tours, but he released his fourth solo album, Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally, earlier this year.
