A month ago, Helena Deland released a delicate and probing track titled “How Do You Like Me Now.” Today, the Canadian singer-songwriter unveils details of her forthcoming album Eternity Shrugs, slated to arrive next year. It follows 2023’s Goodnight Summerland, which we named Album Of The Week. The second single “Tip Of My Tongue” is available now.
“I’m picturing a long-awaited, momentous encounter, the kind that keeps a part of the mind alert,” Deland explains about the song’s beauty. “Perhaps you need to quietly gauge how up-to-date you are with the other person’s life since the last time you spoke, or perhaps you know a former version of them so well that the present-day one feels entirely, surprisingly familiar. The song was arranged with that sense of familiarity in mind, like something that has been on the tip of my tongue for a long time.”
“Tip Of My Tongue” is another soft, evocative gem that feels like a glimpse into an intimate moment. It comes with a music video by Jodi Heartz and Alex Blouin. Watch below.
