Jelly Roll has goaded President Donald Trump, labeling him a "fat pig".
The Grammy-winning artist, while sitting in as a guest host on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Monday night, unlocked a few jabs and quips, joking that his weight loss over the years had been so dramatic it was like shedding "an entire Donald Trump".
During his opening routine, Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, noted that the 80-year-old Donald Trump had reportedly gained weight, remarking that the president was "now tipping the scales at almost 240".
"In the last few years I’ve shed 300lbs," the 41-year-old artist shared. "That means I’ve shed an entire Donald Trump."
The 41-year-old country-rap star followed with the punchline, "And let’s be honest, based on his approval ratings, it seems like most of the country wants to do the same thing," drawing loud applause from the audience.
Jelly Roll then rolled a highlight reel of Trump mocking overweight people and describing former New Jersey governor Chris Christie as "a fat pig" and "a big fat slob"—which Jelly Roll quipped was a case of "the pot calling the kettle fat".
The Save Me singer wrapped up his riff with a lighthearted joke at his own expense.
"Well, Mr President, from one fat pig to another, take it from me that physical fitness is very important," Jelly Roll said.
He continued to poke at the president by joking about Donald’s "s**t job" as the flag bearer at the recent NTT IndyCar Series Freedom 250 Grand Prix in Washington, DC, last Saturday. Donald was seen waving a green flag at the race in a manner some found awkward.
"The president seemed to enjoy the IndyCar race, which was a real switch-up for him," Jelly Roll quipped, "because normally he only likes his own race."
Jelly Roll is one of six guest hosts chosen to hold down the fort for the late-night show during the summer break, alongside comedians Rosie O’Donnell, Tiffany Haddish, Anthony Anderson and Ike Barinholtz, and actor and playwright Colman Domingo.
