In the previous year, Doves released their sixth studio album, Constellations For The Lonely. Today, Jez Williams reveals his first solo LP, Life Of Me And You. The guitarist from the post-Britpop outfit has dropped the lead single, “Hollow Man,” today.
“Avoiding clichés, ‘Hollow Man’ tackles the realities of contemporary life,” he says. “It can effortlessly drain your spirit. An overload of information, a flood of opinions, rapid shifts coming from every direction. Tsunamis of data rushing at you. It can feel overwhelming, pulling you away from the moment and pulling you inward. I decided to channel all of that into a riff with an AC/DC-like edge, which then opens into a more expansive chorus. It all flowed out in a single burst.”
Life Of Me And You was conceived, tracked, and produced by Williams across multiple studios. Watch “Hollow Man” below.
