Joe Glass – Not a Surprise

August 26, 2026

Real Sharp Pins enthusiasts may recall that Kai Slater independently released the project’s breakout album Radio DDR on Bandcamp in 2024 before the K Records imprint Perennial issued an expanded reissue last year. Those same Sharp Pins fans probably know Joe Glass, Slater’s bandmate, who issued his own album Snakewards through Hallogallo in January. Now Perennial is applying the same deluxe relaunch approach to Glass’s record.

In November, the label will unveil a longer edition of Snakewards. One of the three bonus tracks arrives today. It’s titled “It’s No Wonder,” and it shifts Glass’s power-pop sensibilities into a lean, acoustic arrangement. Watch the video below.

The expanded Snakewards lands 11/13 on K/Perennial. Pre-order it here. Additionally, Glass will be opening several Stephen Malkmus solo shows in California next week.

I write about music as a cultural signal, following the artists, scenes, releases, and movements that shape how people listen today. My work focuses on discovery, context, and the stories behind the sounds that travel beyond borders.
