John Errol – Drifting Away

August 19, 2026

John Errol is a Los Angeles–based musician crafting warped, stylish indie-pop that draws on a broad lineage of influences—from Britney Spears and David Bowie to Nine Inch Nails. His previous album, Inferno, arrived in 2021, but today he returns with a new, sinister track titled “Float.”

“I found myself paddling through a lake at midnight, trying to slip away from whatever lurked beneath,” he explains about the song. “There are reasons behind that image that feed a lot of the music I’ve been making lately. This piece reshapes those memories into a revenge fantasy where the prey becomes the predator, where violence and intimacy merge into something more menacing. Kill or be killed, as the saying goes.”

I write about music as a cultural signal, following the artists, scenes, releases, and movements that shape how people listen today. My work focuses on discovery, context, and the stories behind the sounds that travel beyond borders.
