Kiwi Jr. Announces New Single ‘Something Wicked’

November 4, 2026

Toronto rockers Kiwi Jr. took their latest project to Detroit to record Blowin’ Up with Holy Fuck’s Graham Walsh, and they invited a range of Michigan artists to contribute — Stef Chura, Fred Thomas, and Protomartyr’s Joe Casey and Greg Ahee — alongside guests from outside the state, including Kerri Maclellan of Alvvays and Margaux Bouchaudon of En Attendant Ana. Today, they return with an outtake from those sessions, a bright indie-pop cut titled “Something Wicked.” Frontman Jeremy Gaudet explains the backstory:

“Something Wicked” was among the earliest concepts for the album, and this particular take comes from the Detroit sessions for Blowin’ Up. As we kept writing and moved closer to finishing, the vibe shifted, and the track found its own place in terms of mood and ideas. It’s one of our favorite songs to play, but by the time the record was done, it didn’t quite fit with the rest. The lyric riffs on a Shakespearean witches’ brew aimed at steering you off course; trouble shows up in all shapes and sizes from places you’d never expect.”
