The UK pop artist Rachel Chinouriri, whose rising profile has audiences buzzing, recently performed at Olivia Rodrigo’s Daisy Chain Fields festival, and her forthcoming album I think I spoke too soon is slated for release next month. We previously highlighted the lead track “One song away from crying,” and now she follows it with a fresh single titled “Make believe,” another intimate portrait of love’s fragility.
Chinouriri produced “Make believe” alongside former collaborator apob, with the track also co-written by HYLNU, Ed Thomas, and Mary Weitz. The song leans into a bold, chunky synth line reminiscent of the 1980s, and its lyrics depict her narrator reconnecting with an ex while weighing her choices: “Am I bangin’ a loser? Am I an easy maneuver? Is it too late for the future?” Watch it below.
I think I spoke too soon is set for release on 10/16 through Atlas Artists/Parlophone/Warner Records.
