Myleene Klass has stated she cannot “commit” to a 25th anniversary Hear’Say reunion “at the moment”.
The group behind Pure and Simple, who came together on Popstars in 2001 before splitting up a year later, are eager to commemorate the milestone. As a result, Noel Sullivan, Suzanne Shaw, Kym Marsh and Danny Foster are set to tour again, while Myleene has chosen not to join in due to a demanding schedule.
During ITV’s Loose Women on Monday (05.10.26), Myleene — also a longtime Classic FM presenter — explained that her numerous work commitments prevent her from going on tour.
She said: “Well, they were really sweet, and they did include me in the discussions. But it’s not something I can commit to at the moment. I just really can’t. I know that they’re still figuring out a lot of the moving parts of it, and until they do that, you know, there’s nothing sort of necessary set in stone. But for me, I’m just super busy. I’m committed to you guys.”
Myleene looks back on her time with the band fondly and remains on good terms with her former colleagues.
She insisted: “I love the guys dearly. It was an incredibly important time in my life. It taught me so much. You know, epic songs like that and moments like that.”
The 48-year-old star did hint that she hasn’t completely ruled out revisiting Hear’Say and would surely be in the front row if they returned to the stage, though she joked she is unsure whether she even remembers all the lyrics.
She said: “I would say never say never about anything because, as I said earlier to you guys, you know, I don’t really agree on revisiting the past.”
Myleene reiterated that nothing is “set in stone” yet, as far as she knows.
She added: “Like I said before, until there’s things set in stone, it’s very difficult to commit to something that’s so up in the air. And I think they’re just figuring things out as well. But I really do appreciate that they came and included me.”
Fans had speculated that the group were planning to reunite when they revived their Instagram page with a teaser.
They posted a screen recording of a WhatsApp chat, in which Danny wrote: “Wow?.?.?. can you believe the response to that tour clip we posted?!”, referring to a video they had shared. Suzanne replied: “I know right, amazing! Ahhh the memories?.?.?.?can you believe it was 25 years ago?!”
Noel then commented: “OK, so hear me out?.?.?.?”
Kym asked: “Go on.”
Noel then added: “Fancy getting the band back together?”
While Myleene was included as a member of the chat, she did not send a message and her own Instagram account wasn’t tagged.
Hear’Say had initially planned a 20th anniversary reunion, but the project endured several delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and various personal issues, leading them to eventually abandon the plans altogether.
Kym had previously indicated that the group was eager to do something to mark the milestone of when they first came together.
Despite Kym’s statements, Myleene stressed that she did not want to participate in a reunion because it would represent a backward step.
