Glastonbury will not feature Oasis as a closing headliner next year, according to festival organiser Emily Eavis.
Earlier this week, the Don’t Look Back in Anger group released their 2027 tour dates, and sharp-eyed fans noticed there was no show booked for Sunday 27 June, the festival’s final night, fuelling speculation that the band could be the headliner to wrap things up.
However, Eavis has since put an end to the rumours on Instagram.
"Please say you’ve got Oasis," wrote one follower, to which she replied, "Sorry Jimmy, not this time!"
Her reply aligns with what frontman Liam Gallagher told fans on X last month when someone suggested Oasis were bookmakers’ favourites to headline Glastonbury.
"It’s not happening so all you croc wearing flag waving s**t *** can calm the fk down (sic)," he declared.
Oasis made their Glastonbury debut at Worthy Farm in Somerset, England, in 1994 and returned as headliners the following year. They headlined the Pyramid Stage again in 2004.
Last month, Eavis also ruled out Madonna as a headliner for the 2027 edition.
"No, it’s definitely not Madonna, I’ll tell you that," she said on BBC Radio 4. "But we have got three headliners and we’re very excited about it – it’s all coming together really well."
Glastonbury 2027 runs from 23 to 27 June. Tickets will go on sale on 1 October, before the lineup is unveiled next year.
Liam and Noel Gallagher and co. will kick off their 2027 tour on 21 May in Glasgow, Scotland and conclude with a four-night run at Knebworth House in Hertfordshire between 11 and 19 September. They performed two historic shows at the site in August 1996.
