Olivia Rodrigo Plans to Resume Her Education Someday

October 24, 2026

Olivia Rodrigo harbors a wish to resume her formal education at some point in the future.

The young artist who launched her career while still a teenager has recently shared that she would “love to go back to school” someday.

Rodrigo’s rise to fame began when she released Drivers License just before turning eighteen, causing her to miss a number of traditional milestones, including the chance to attend college.

“I’d love to go back to school. I feel like that’s kind of a misconception that people have, that you have to go when you’re like 19 years old,” she told The Hollywood Reporter. “But I would love to go and learn in more of a classroom setting.”

The 23-year-old, who spent much of high school learning at home, said it would be “really fun” to “sit in a lecture,” and added, “It’s the most basic stuff, but I never had it.”

In 2022, she enrolled in a poetry class at the University of Southern California, an experience that inspired the track Lacy, which appears on her second studio album, GUTS.

Olivia also indicated that she isn’t certain whether she’ll pursue a traditional degree or simply opt for shorter courses.

“It’s funny to think about, though, too, because had I not made Drivers License and my career didn’t go the way that it would have, I honestly feel like I would have gone to college and done some sort of nonprofit work,” the Good 4 U singer added.
