Ozzy Osbourne’s Back To The Beginning documentary is expected to premiere in time for the Christmas period.
The star-studded event at Birmingham’s Villa Park last July marked the final show of the late Black Sabbath icon, who died seventeen days later.
The Dreamer singer’s widow, Sharon Osbourne, is said to have delayed the film’s release, which was originally slated for earlier this year, while she was navigating a period of intense grief.
However, she is now reportedly aiming for a Christmas rollout, presenting fans of the rock and metal legend with a seasonal keepsake.
A source told The Sun’s Bizarre column: “It’s going to be a great Christmas gift for fans of Ozzy and Black Sabbath.”
“The film is looking really strong and contains so many moving moments of Ozzy interacting with his friends and fellow performers.”
“It moves between footage of the gig and backstage segments with artists. It’s incredibly powerful because it captures Ozzy’s final moments in the limelight.”
Ozzy’s legendary festival, Ozzfest, is also set to return to Villa Park next year.
Sharon recently confirmed that discussions with potential performers were underway but kept the details under wraps.
She told Metal Hammer: “Of course we’re speaking to people.”
“I can’t let that out yet, but it’ll be soon.”
Sharon previously hinted at future bookings, saying she’d like to “see Rob Halford there,” suggesting Judas Priest could be on the wishlist.
She has held early talks with Live Nation about reviving the festival in full and said a modern Ozzfest would adopt a broader, more eclectic lineup to reflect how fans consume music today.
She stated on The Osbournes podcast: “I’d like to mix up the genres.”
Ozzfest first launched in 1996 as a two-day event before expanding into a full touring festival the following year. At its peak in the late ’90s and early 2000s, it became a crucial platform for rising metal acts and a major showcase for established names. Its most recent edition in 2018 featured Ozzy, Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson and Korn’s Jonathan Davis.
