Providence, Rhode Island has long fostered a tradition of expansive, brutal, and unruly music, and Peace Test slips right into that lineage. They aren’t chasing the same off-kilter experimental vibe as acts like Lightning Bolt or Dropdead. Instead, Peace Test deliver a menacing, guttural, classic-style hardcore, but they push the speed and intensity to extremes that are rarely seen in today’s scene. This week, Peace Test revealed plans to follow their 2022 full-length debut Pry with a new record titled Repercussion. The album was tracked with producer Trevor Vaughan, known for his work with the Rival Mob and Wound Man, and the lead single “Total Power” lands as a two-minute, white-hot sprint. Check it out below.
