Approximately seven hundred hours have elapsed since Hour unveiled their forthcoming album Ghost Bridge and released its title track. On Wednesday, the polished Philadelphia ensemble offered another preview of the record, presenting the introspective and remarkably pretty “Pearls.” Hour’s music calls for a large number of performers, and for the “Pearls” video they managed to bring almost the entire lineup together in one location for a rehearsal filmed by William H. Travis. Consider it the DIY chamber-music equivalent of an “Oldie” video.

Anyone who has tried to arrange anything can appreciate how precarious it is to have thirteen musicians plus two photographers all in the same place at the same time. I’m proud to say we pulled it off with nearly everyone — big shout-out to our flute player Adelyn, who was on tour in Europe with Skullcrusher when this was filmed. We felt her absence deeply.
It’s a flawless moment in time, a true pearl, if you will.
