Earlier this month, Pet Fox revealed their forthcoming album Balance and released the punchy title track. Now, the band is presenting the second single, a somber, confession-forward piece titled “Avoidant.”
“The opening line says everything: ‘I’m meant to overthink, I’m constantly avoidant,'” explains Theo Hartlett. “My thoughts keep looping, and with this track in particular, I was tapping into how difficult it can be to end things with someone… especially when that person hasn’t done anything wrong.”
The song carries a downbeat, emotionally charged atmosphere, especially as Hartlett projects it with a sense of resignation, saying, “I’m faking everything/ It’s coming to a head now.” Listen below.
