Prevention, a straight-edge hardcore outfit from Springfield, Illinois, has been delivering hard-hitting, passionate material since 2019. They move with breakneck speed within a traditional old-school youth crew framework, yet their commitment runs so deep that it rarely feels like mere echoes of the classic bands they admire.
The group has built a robust catalog of EPs, including a 2024 split with Anklebiter and a quick-following two-track single. Now they’re finally stepping out with a full-length release. Their debut LP, announced earlier this week, is set to arrive near the end of the month. It’s titled And Nothing’s Mine, and it’s expected to deliver the same jolt of energy as the lead single, “Tell Yourself,” a 73-second burst of righteous fury. Check it out below.
