Queens of the Stone Age – Escape the Mob

October 29, 2026

Queens Of The Stone Age are set to release their latest album, the somewhat maddeningly titled Perfecth, this Friday. The most recent single from the project saw frontman Josh Homme, now sporting a silver mane, wondering “Where The Goth Girls At?” Today brings the closing track “Run Away From The Mob,” a cut that traces its origins to the 2013 sessions for …Like Clockwork and features Dave Grohl handling the drums.

“It’s a letter, a last one, addressed to an oldest son,” Homme explains. “‘If you’re reading this, everything went wrong, and here’s what you have to do.’ The ending evokes the image of a father standing behind his son.” An investigation into mob mentality and the court of public opinion, the song grows from a mournful guitar motif into a blistering expression of unconditional loyalty. Listen below.

Perfecth is out 10/30 on Matador.

I write about music as a cultural signal, following the artists, scenes, releases, and movements that shape how people listen today. My work focuses on discovery, context, and the stories behind the sounds that travel beyond borders.
