Quivers Releases Bottle the Nervous

November 5, 2026

Australian outfit Quivers from Melbourne inked a deal with Merge ahead of 2024’s notable Oyster Cuts. Now operating as a trio, the band returns with “Bottle The Nervous,” a quietly remarkable track that will serve as the A-side on a 7-inch released this week. Energetic while tender, it drew me in at once and then won me over with lines like, “You bottle the nervous/ It hurts so good/ Like being nervous should.”

Quivers offer context about the track:

This track came together while we were finally touring our earlier record in earnest, Oyster Cuts. It captures the mix of nerves and exhilaration that comes with welcoming a first child. It likely touches on other firsts as well: the first songs you remember, perplexing friendships, the moment you saw a motorbike alight. The band is at the start of a new era, and Quivers is stepping into a new chapter. That transition brings both trepidation and anticipation.

Listen below.

“Bottle The Nervous” b/w “Drive Somewhere” is out 11/6 on Merge. “Drive Somewhere” is physical-only, so pre-order the record here if you want to hear it.
