Rick Ross No Longer Faces a Felony Charge in a Domestic Violence Case

October 30, 2026

Authorities in Florida have dismissed a felony accusation against Rick Ross in his domestic violence matter.

New court documents obtained by TMZ reveal that prosecutors have charged the 50-year-old with two misdemeanor counts: one labeled battery and the other battery/domestic violence.

Nevertheless, the felony battery charge was dropped due to insufficient evidence.

The rapper, whose real name is William Leonard Roberts II, was initially arrested on October 1 for felony battery by strangulation and for misdemeanor battery before the felony charge was dropped. He has entered a not guilty plea to the remaining charges.

An arrest report alleges that Ross assaulted, choked, and slammed his girlfriend at his Miami home after he questioned whether she had lied to him.

Ross’s lawyers Steve Sadow and Bradley Horenste have asserted that he is being “wrongfully accused” by an ex-girlfriend.

“Mr. Roberts is innocent and has pled not guilty to the charges,” they said. “He respectfully requests that his friends, fans and the general public not prejudge the situation and allow the judicial process to run its course.”
