Sam Fender and Olivia Dean Land a Historic Chart Moment with Rein Me In

July 18, 2026

Sam Fender and Olivia Dean are etching a fresh chapter in music history with their collaboration “Rein Me In,” which notches an impressive 17th non-consecutive week atop the Official Singles Chart. By preserving the No. 1 position today, the track has surpassed Bryan Adams’s legendary 1991 hit “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You,” which racked up 16 consecutive weeks at the summit. The British duo now stands just one week away from equalling Frankie Laine’s 1953 record for the most weeks at the peak in UK chart history, courtesy of “I Believe.”

While the top spot remains under their control, a football fervor continues to ripple through the rest of the Top 40. Despite England’s heartbreaking semi-final loss to Argentina, a wave of tournament anthems has surged onto the singles chart. Leading the charge is Oasis, whose quintessential track “Wonderwall” has been newly embraced as an unofficial anthem for the national squad. The Britpop giant climbed nine places to land at number two, matching its original peak from 31 years ago.

Close behind, Baddiel, Skinner & The Lightning Seeds’ patriotic classic “Three Lions (Football’s Coming Home)” surged 18 places to return to the Top 10 at number three. Meanwhile, Dutch dance duo ANOTR secured a personal best with “Talk To You” featuring 54 Ultra, jumping ten spots to number four after a viral clip of England defender John Stones dancing to the summer tune spread across social media.

The official FIFA World Cup 2026 single “Dai Dai” by Shakira and Burna Boy also shifted the goalposts, breaking into the Top 5 for the first time at number five. Shakira’s timeless 2010 anthem “Waka Waka (This Time For Africa)” simultaneously shot up to land at number 26, its highest placement in more than a decade. Elsewhere in the standings, dance producers Prospa and Cloonee reached a new peak at number seven with “Free Your Mind,” while pop superstar Olivia Rodrigo earned her 17th Top 40 hit as her brand-new single “Honeybee” debuted at number 30.
