Stream Exploding Flowers’ New Album Alphabet Window — LA Power-Pop Band

October 17, 2026

Exploding Flowers carries a striking name, and fortunately the music behind it lives up to the hype rather than letting it fall flat. Their new album, Alphabet Window, lands today on Meritorio Records, a standout label from Spain. The seasoned Los Angeles outfit plays power-pop that should win over fans of the Chills, the Soft Boys, or the Pains of Being Pure at Heart; it can drift into a fuzzier edge at times, but its creative vision remains crystal clear throughout.

While the band name might suggest a certain aggression, their approach is rooted in careful contemplation and restraint. Not that discerning janglers will ever tire of an album of this pedigree. It’s refined, hooky guitar music with a melancholic streak and just the right amount of decorative flair. Take a listen to Alphabet Window below.

I write about music as a cultural signal, following the artists, scenes, releases, and movements that shape how people listen today. My work focuses on discovery, context, and the stories behind the sounds that travel beyond borders.
