Bucket is an exploratory noise-rock trio hailing from Dublin, comprised of vocalist Cian Dahdouh, bass player Emmet McNamee, and drummer Korey O’Bryne. In April they issued a tattered, off-kilter EP called Mosaic. Today they return with a brand-new single titled “Strung Out.” It arrives with fury and venom, and it lands with impact.
Dahdouh offered a glimpse into the track’s meaning:
The song digs into the uneasy mix of pride and embarrassment that comes with national identity. We want to celebrate our country and its culture, yet we can’t turn a blind eye to the deep-seated issues that affect it and everyone who calls this place home. The surge of Irish culture and media onto the global stage inspired us, even as we recognized it as a double-edged sword.
