Last month, Susanna Hoffs of the Bangles unveiled a forthcoming solo record titled The List. To date, she has released tracks like “Casablanca” and “This Island,” and now she returns with a heartfelt collaboration with Rufus Wainwright titled “Bad Case Of Loneliness.”
“My first ever big arena show was with the Bangles back in the ’80s, and the memory is as vivid as ever,” says Wainwright. “Being able to share a vocal with Susanna today is a true joy, plus it feels like reaching the summit of a mythic ladder I started climbing as a kid. Absolutely thrilling.”
The leading single carried pedal steel, though not as prominently as “Bad Case Of Loneliness,” which features Greg Leisz tearing into that pedal steel. The track was written with CJ Camerieri and Ryan Lerman, with Lerman on guitar, Spencer Zahn on bass, Benny Bock on Udo, and JT Bates on drums. Listen below.
The List is slated for release on 9/18 through Hoffs’ own Baroque Folk label.
