Taylor Swift has released a teaser for the Patient Zero music video, featuring Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell.
On Wednesday the pop icon announced an expanded edition of her twelfth studio album, The Life of a Showgirl.
The extended edition will include her new single Patient Zero along with three additional tracks titled Cleveland!, Pink Clouding, and Babylon.
Swift shared a first glimpse of the forthcoming Patient Zero video on Instagram on Thursday.
Clocking in at just 13 seconds, the cinematic snippet features Swift with actors Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell. It contains shots of Swift washing her hands, two bodies diving into water, a black rose, two women by a gravestone, a tearful Swift, and a climactic shot showing all three stars together.
The clip was directed by Swift, Farrell and Johnson and shot by Oscar-winning cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki, known for his work on Birdman and Gravity.
The Shake It Off singer revealed that the video would world-premiere at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) in Los Angeles on Sunday.
The ceremony promises a particularly busy night for the singer-songwriter, who has earned 11 nominations and will also receive the inaugural MTV VMA Artist Director Honors, a new prize recognizing artists who have “advanced the art of visual storytelling.”
The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore is slated for release on Friday, September 25.
