Taylor Swift has surprised her fan base by revealing plans for a deluxe edition of her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, set to arrive this week.
In a message posted to Instagram on Wednesday, the pop icon announced that The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore will drop on Friday, accompanied by the track Patient Zero.
The expanded edition will also feature three additional songs titled Cleveland!, Pink Clouding, and Babylon.
Swift co-wrote these songs with her collaborators Max Martin and Shellback during a trip to Sweden, where they had intended to celebrate the album’s milestone—the project was first revealed in October 2025.
“I took a trip to Sweden to celebrate with Max and Shellback, my two collaborators on this album,” she recalled. “What started as a moment to reflect and soak in how grateful we were for the moment we were in became a writing session, because there was a studio there and we did what we do when inspiration strikes: we wrote more songs.”
The Opalite artist went on to thank her fans for their ongoing support.
“I hope you love them, because they were born out of pure gratitude for your enthusiasm for and celebration of the album we created. The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore including four new songs is out on Friday and available to pre-order and save now,” the 36-year-old added.
Swift has a busy weekend ahead, as she has been nominated in 11 categories at the 2026 MTV VMAs, which will take place in Los Angeles on Sunday.
During the ceremony, the singer-songwriter will also receive the inaugural MTV VMA Artist Director Honors, a new accolade that recognizes artists who have “advanced the art of visual storytelling”.
