THAO is shaping up to release her comeback album Show Me. To date, she has unveiled “Fossils” and “Sick Of The Times,” the latter featuring Tune-Yards and the Linda Lindas. The newest release, however, is a collaboration with Neko Case titled “Catch As Catch Can.”
“‘Catch As Catch Can’ draws from the vivid image of bodies surrendering to one another in the ocean, bodies yielding to the animal within, a distant lighthouse, the doorway of a cottage by a ferocious sea,” THAO explains. “Just those visuals, looping. Whatever serves the purpose, you know?”
“Having Neko lend her voice to one of my songs is a dream realized,” she adds. “Touring has carried her voice across thousands of miles as our soundtrack. Whenever I slip on Fox Confessor Brings The Flood, I picture mountains and deserts and feel my heart in my throat. I’ve been incredibly honored and fortunate to open for Neko several times over the years. Her career path and how she navigates this industry have always inspired me. When I first heard her majestic voice on this track, I welled up.”
