WannaCry by Ninajirachi & Porter Robinson

July 29, 2026

Hailing from Australia, Ninajirachi stands as one of the electronic-pop scene’s most vividly expressive artists, a true maximalist in both sound and style. Her album I Love My Computer earned a spot on our list of last year’s best releases, and we also named her among the top new artists for 2025.

It was a letdown, then, when she provided the soundtrack for a Meta advertisement promoting its AI-powered “creeper” glasses—an endorsement, one might argue, that even Lorde would shake her head at.

In brighter Ninajirachi news, a fresh single lands today. The pulsating trance track “WannaCry” is a collaboration with Porter Robinson, a pioneer in computer music who staged the first concert she ever attended. They teased it during a Coachella DJ set featuring underscores, and Robinson slipped it into his set at EDC Las Vegas. Now it’s officially released ahead of Ninajirachi’s Lollapalooza debut, ready to sit beside “Better Off Alone” in your next playlist.

I write about music as a cultural signal, following the artists, scenes, releases, and movements that shape how people listen today. My work focuses on discovery, context, and the stories behind the sounds that travel beyond borders.
