Westlife are eager to enlist Niall Horan for a duet on their current tour.
The Flying Without Wings hitmakers recently completed a record-breaking 13-night stint at Dublin’s 3Arena as part of their 25th Anniversary World Tour, and they’re hoping their fellow Irishman will join them for a duet at some point in the coming months.
Kian Egan told The Sun on Sunday that the possibility hasn’t been formally discussed, but you never know.
Niall will have plenty of date options to choose from if he decides to take up the suggestion because Westlife are on track to perform more than 150 concerts on their current run.
Shane Filan said: “We have 150 dates and it is growing. We don’t know how many it is going to be, but it is going to be more than 150 for sure.”
The World of Our Own group are focusing on staying in peak shape for the concerts, so they’re keeping partying after the shows fairly low-key.
Shane said: “You keep yourself fit, you go to the gym, go for a run or surf – you just want to be in good shape for it. It is a very physical show.”
“We aren’t out drinking every night, but we still manage to enjoy it. We came off stage on the first night with a few pints of Guinness together. It was a lovely moment.”
Asked if they feel fitter now, Shane added: “Without a doubt. We are getting older but we feel the same on stage.”
Shane, Kian and bandmate Nicky Byrne feel grateful to have kept the same fanbase over the years.
Shane said: “All these people have been with us since day one and now they get to relive these 25 years in one show for two hours.”
And even though they are all getting older, the trio joked fans still throw their underwear on stage at them.
Kian said: “We have a B-stage where we get quite close to the audience. One bra got thrown up, and before we knew it, it started multiplying to around ten, fourteen or so. It is a bit of fun, and nostalgic.”
Shane added: “We aren’t leaning into it too much or the stage would be covered!”
