Zara Larsson aims to headline Coachella

Zara Larsson envisions headlining Coachella.

The Lush Life singer, who broke through in the U.S. last year with the track Midnight Sun, hopes to secure a spot at the renowned California festival someday.

Larsson has been attending Coachella for many years, describing it as one of the events that leaves her profoundly inspired by the fellow artists and musicians on display. Nevertheless, she doesn’t feel ready to occupy the main stage’s top slot just yet.

“I’m not at that level yet, but I really want to perform,” she told Billboard. “And when it comes to headlining, I want it to be so monumental and spectacular that people will say, ‘Now she has to headline.'”

The Swedish pop icon recently performed at Lollapalooza in Chicago, where a viral clip captured her inviting a fan onstage to join in the choreographed dance from Lush Life.

“I truly want audiences everywhere—no matter the festival or country—to have that moment and to come together to build lasting memories,” she noted, adding that each performance and crowd yields something unique.

“It’s something that can’t be scripted. And it’s something the fans contribute,” she continued. “It’s really something I can’t achieve from the stage alone.”

The Midnight Sun artist has played at numerous festivals this year, including All Things Go Music Festival on the U.S. East Coast in late September and All Points East in London over the summer.
