BTW kommt ja bald noch das NICK-CAVE-projekt GRINDERMAN mit einer scheibe raus... - das ist er plus die bärtigen, manischen jungs, mit denen er jetzt auf tour war, ihrerseits eine teilmenge der BAD SEEDS... - das ganze rau, reduziert, dirty, düster. sie haben das eine oder andere auch am konzert gespielt. besonders sticht neben CAVE saitenmann WARREN ELLIS hervor, der seine geige verzerrt, traktiert, bended, powercorded, und auch zu viola und electric bouzouki greift - die werden auch nicht sanfter behandelt. auch visuell ein ereignis.
die erste single "GET IT ON" ist nun erhältlich. album release: 10. april.
insgesamt: vielversprechend.

naja, eine woche verspätung liegt noch ein meinem toleranzbereich.
obwohl ich natürlich auch sehnlichst darauf warte.
die können von glück reden, dass ich mich letzten freitag kräftig
mit neuem material eingedeckt habe, so bin ich vorerst nicht vom
grinderman-release abhängig

hihi :)
nix balladen, hä..? wenn man das album allerdings ein bisschen durchforstet, findet man mit der zeit durchaus auch zwischentöne. presse-rezeption und auch das eigene hören stossen aber schon zuerst und v.a. auf den holzhacker'schen ausfallschritt. ungehobeltes hobeln mit ausnahmen. :)

Ja, ich habe ja schon vorgängig reingehört. Auch die Haarpracht (vor allem der Bart) von Cave hat mich schon auf die Klänge vorbereitet.
Aber Holz hackts allerdings.

nick cave hat zusammen mit warren ellis (das ist der multiinstrumentalist und manische geiger von bad seeds, grinderman und live-tour) den sountrack zu The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford gemacht und soll auch einen gastauftritt haben. das ist der neue western mit brad pitt.
